WHO WE ARE

A community driven organisation with a vision to support, develop and empower the youth whilst organising activities and events which bring the community together

Al-Buraaq Youth Foundation (ABYF) was established to provide Islamic education and extra-curricular activities for the youth based around Sri Lankan Muslim Cultural Centre. ABYF founded by few individuals in July 2011 has now grown and blossomed to 30 members and counting.

By achieving our objectives step by step we hope to attain our long term goal, which is to produce a successful new generation in this community. Press below to learn more about our objectives and how we hope to achieve them.

WHAT WE DO

01.

— Youth Club

Offering the chance for young people to develop their friendship, skills and knowledge; creating both a fun and beneficial environment.

02.

— Recreation

Regular leisure activities, day trips and weekend trips to keep the youth active and to allow them to meet new people and strengthen bonds.

03.

— Sports

Since our youth club is very diverse, sports is used as a way of breaking down demographic barriers and incorporating everyone, regardless of their background.

04.

— Football League

To bring more enthusiasm and competition to our weekly football sessions, we decided to create our first ever ABYF Premier League which started in November 2019, lasting 3 months and turning out to be a huge success!

05.

— Charity Work

Helping those in need with various projects such as regular homeless/food drives and actively looking for new ways to involve the youth in helping the needy.

06.

— Other Events

Organising and helping out in various events, workshops and Naseeha sessions and plans for events/projects in the future.
